Sunday School Classes
Our Sunday School classes appeal to all ages and stages.
You are invited to try them all!
Classes offered on the second floor are accessible by elevator.
Willing Workers class is on the main floor.
All classes begin at 9:15 a.m.
Adult Sunday School Classes
Willing Workers Class, Rm. 107
uses Adult Bible Study series.
Class begins with singing from the Cokesbury Hymnal. Class holds seasonal social events.
Adult Bible Class, Rm. 220
uses videos, class discussion, and special interest speakers.
Class members facilitate the discussion.
Contemporary Theology Class, Rm. 223
uses variety of materials to study contemporary issues.
Class members lead discussion. In July and August, the Contemporary Theology Sunday School class is spending six weeks discussing recent developments regarding homosexuality and same-sex marriage within the United Methodist Church and the biblical texts. The New Class, Rm. 201
uses Adult Bible study material, and book discussion that is open to all.
If you can not attend each Sunday you can drop in and join the discussion. Lessons are group or volunteer led. Class meets several times a year for fellowship and to choose new study material.
New Life Class, Rm. 216
uses varieties of resources including a lectionary-based Bible study and a variety of books.
Class discussion is teacher-led.
Seekers Class, Rm. 224
studies the Bible in its historic context and discusses its application in our daily lives.
United Methodism 101, Rm. 221
This pastor-led class meets for 4 Sundays periodically. The class learns about the primary beliefs of United Methodism and of the ministries at First United Methodist Church.
