Stephen Ministry
Our congregation's Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.
The SM leaders are Sharon Lee, Darlene Matlock, Sharon Rothrock, Judy Simpson, Sandra Wanasek, Lori Hogue, Glen Walser, and Jerry Ann Haas.
FUMC has been a Stephen Ministry congregation since 1996 and have trained over 80 people for this lay caregiving ministry.
In addition to caring in a one-on-one relationship basis, our trained Stephen Ministers:
- take communion on a monthly basis to our First Church friends at home or in nursing homes
- provide for hospital visitation.
