Ministry Team Home

Welcome and Inclusion

Ministry takes many shapes for the Welcome and Inclusion Ministry Area Team. From feeding crowds at the Frisco Festival to organizing programs for worship visitors, the team works together to involve church members in inviting friends and neighbors to FUMC and helping them to feel welcome with that warm FUMC hospitality.

Downtown Events
FUMC's participation in downtown events brings many visitors to our beautiful building where they can meet the smiling faces of our church family. We offer candy and a greeting to children at the annual Goblin Parade, and hot chocolate and candy canes with messages to Christmas Parade visitors.

Our Fellowship Hall doors are thrown open for visitors to enjoy the air conditioning and an old-fashioned meal at the Fill 'er Up Café the Saturday of the annual downtown Frisco Festival. This year's event will be held August 26 and the café will serve homemade sandwiches and pies from 10 a.m. — 1:30 p.m.

Newcomers' Fair
The Newcomers' Fair brings visitors to the church lawn to gather information about living in Northwest Arkansas and to meet representatives of city, county and civic organizations. New residents can register to vote, sign up for a library card, pick up maps and brochures and more at this annual event, scheduled for 1-3 p.m. Saturday, September 9.

Community Involvement
Welcome and Inclusion coordinates gifts for teachers at the annual Rogers Teacher's Fair, participation in the recent downtown Art Walk, breakfast for the Rogers Shop with a Cop program and hosting of the Rogers Ministerial Alliance Holy Week service receptions.

In addition to planning print advertising for church worship services and events, Welcome and Inclusion works with local media to inform the public of programs and events of interest.
