Ministry Team Home
Worship
The Worship Ministry Area Team meets the second Monday of each month at 7pm. The focus of the team is to plan for worship services and assure that all aspects of the planning and preparing for a meaningful worship service are complete. The worship team is divided into sub groups that focus on particular elements of the worship service or experience:
If you would like to volunteer for one of these teams, please contact
Joe Miller or
Kevin Lancaster.

Altar Angels
Ever wonder who straightens hymnals and keeps the sanctuary tidy? Who prepares the Altar table with the correct color of paraments and supplies fresh candles? Who decorates the sanctuary for holidays and special services? Altar Angels perform these and other necessary behind-the-scenes tasks. Altar Angels are so much more than housekeepers...they make the sanctuary a comfortable, beautiful, and organized place to worship and hear the word of God. If you are interested in serving in this way please contact Gina Johns at
larryandgina@cox.net or Jerry Ann Haas at
bobhaas@ipa.net
Ushers
The ushers help to assure a even flow of traffic into and out of the sanctuary, assisting those who need assistance, helping to collect the offering, and being the first point of contact for welcoming new visitors.
Worship Leaders
Worship Leaders direct the flow of the worship service, assuring that the worship service moves smoothly from element to element, and helping to guide the congregation in worship activities within the service. If you are interested in becoming a worship leader, please contact
Joe Miller.
Acolytes
Acolytes bring the altar lights into the sanctuary at the start of the service, assist with the offering, and take the altar lights out of the sanctuary after the service. Minimum age for acolytes is 3rd grade. If your son or daughter is interested in being an acolyte, contact
Jenny Harris.
Children's Time
The Children's Time leader gives the 'mini' sermon to the children during Children's Time in the worship service. The message is tailored to the needs of the younger members of our congregation. If you are interested in being a Children's Time leader, contact Jeanette Arnhart or the church office.
Communion Stewards
The Communion Stewards assist with communion during the service, and collect and prepare the materials for the communion. If you are interested in becoming a communion steward, contact Vicki Watkins or Janice Warren.
Sound Board / Audio/Visual Systems
The sound board technician operates the sound system in the sanctuary, operating the microphones, assistive-listening devices, amplifier, etc. so that everyone in the congregation can hear and fully participate in the worship service.
The video systems in the services consist of both a projection system for the display of hymn text, announcement, and other information for the congregation during the services, and the video system itself. Each service is video taped for duplication onto DVD and the website for those who cannot attend the service itself. The video system consists of three cameras and one video switchboard. We can use two video camera operators and one video switchboard operator for each service.
If you would like to volunteer to operate the sound or video systems during the worship service, contact
Kevin Lancaster.
